Rumi Daily, in a free pilot
Shift reports from your dairy team, in their own language
At the end of each shift, every worker talks for a minute about what they did, what they saw and what they need. You get one digest in English, sorted and ranked. You reply once, and each worker gets your answer in Spanish, English or whatever language they speak.
iPhone, Android and WhatsApp. Workers need no email address. Screens show the app with a demo farm.
For the worker: one button, their language
Designed for milkers, feeders and calf crew at the end of a long shift, on their own phone.
- Talk, don’t type. One big microphone and three prompts: what I did, problems I saw, what I need.
- Any language. Spanish, English or their own. The app’s screens are in English and Spanish.
- No email, no password. Join with the farm code, a name and a 4-digit PIN.
- Or just WhatsApp. Send a voice note to the farm’s number and get a summary back. A quick “FIX” within 10 minutes flags it for review.
- Works in the barn. Reports wait on the phone with no signal and send themselves later.
- Hears the answer. The manager’s reply arrives in their language and can be read aloud.
For the manager: one digest, one reply
Pick the time the digest arrives. If a report comes in after that, the digest updates instead of leaving it out.
Translation without a translator
Most dairies have one bilingual person who gets pulled off the job every time something needs explaining. Rumi Daily translates every report on the way in and every reply on the way out. Managers can always tap Show original to see exactly what the worker said.
Every report is also sorted into work done, issues, needs and observations, with a severity on each issue, so a sick cow doesn’t sit in the same pile as a burnt-out light.
An example from the demo farm in the app
Ya arreglé la llanta del cargador. El frente del silo tiene moho en la orilla de arriba, como dos pies. Necesitamos más llantas para la cubierta del montón.
I fixed the loader tire. The silage face has mold on the top edge, about two feet. We need more tires for the pile cover.
Good work this week, everyone. Keep sending your reports at the end of each shift.
Pedro reads, or hears read aloud:Buen trabajo esta semana a todos. Sigan mandando su reporte al final de cada turno.
Ask Rumi about your farm
Ask in plain words and get an answer from your team’s last 7 days of reports.
- “Who hasn’t reported this week?”
- “What’s still open in the fresh pen?”
- “What did the calf crew need on Tuesday?”
Who sees what
The farm’s manager and owner see each report and the digest. Workers don’t see each other’s reports. Reports, recordings and photos are kept for 90 days, and workers can read exactly what is kept on a plain-language screen in the app.
Rumi Daily questions
What languages does Rumi Daily support?
Workers can report in Spanish, English or their own language. Rumi Daily detects the language, translates the report for the manager, and translates the manager’s reply back for each worker. The app’s buttons and menus are in English and Spanish.
Do workers need an email address or an app account?
No. A worker joins with the farm code, their name and a 4-digit PIN. Workers who would rather not install anything can send their shift report as a WhatsApp voice note or message instead.
Who sees worker reports, and how long are they kept?
The farm’s manager and owner see each report and the daily digest. Other workers do not see each other’s reports. Reports, recordings and photos are kept for 90 days, and every worker can read a plain-language page in the app explaining this.
Does Rumi replace our herd management software?
No. Herd software keeps the records on each cow. Rumi records what your people saw, did and need each shift, and what your advisers found on their barn walks. It works beside the software you already use.
Which phones does Rumi work on?
Both apps run on iPhone and Android. Rumi Daily also works through WhatsApp, so a worker can report from any phone that has it.
What does Rumi cost?
Rumi Daily is free during the pilot. Rumi Walk is in beta and has a free plan that covers up to 50 walks a month while the beta runs.
